Make-over

Today was going to be a day to finish or at least work on the siding at the Cougar House. When we got up this morning there was snow on the ground. It snowed most of the day. There was enough clothing to take care of the body in the snow, however, the saw would not have been good in the wet snow. It was decided to work in the house. Clara upstairs in the pantry and Ray in the basement and garage. It doesn't look like much, but it was a lot of work and we are happy with the things we were able to accomplish so far. We hope to be organized for the company at Christmas. It is good to get our food out of the garage and into the basement.

We were also able to watch the Bowl game with BYU, the basketball game with BYU, and then the Jazz game. In between we went to the store to shop the sales.

It is nice some days to have the snow. It is good to stay at home and have a work day.

Christmas At Our House

Here is our beautiful Christmas Tree. Michael got everyone together to search out the perfect tree. He went with Ray, Skip, Amy Jo and all the kids to find it. They brought it home and everyone helped decorate it. It looks lovely.

It is very evident that there are only a few presents under the tree. The green one behind the tree is for Erica and Cody. The red one is for Ray and there is one under the limbs for Michael. The rest of the presents are in the basement waiting for the wee ones to get here.

Plan for some activities and fun times during the holidays. We are looking forward to the company.

Dinner Time

Ray took me in the BLM truck with him for the day. We drove around and looked at the water holes the ranchers should have filled with water. He found a bunch of cows in trespass. I was the scribe as he used his binoculars and called out the numbers in each of the cows' (or bulls') ears. We worked for over two hours. He drove through the cows, stopped, called out numbers, and I wrote them down. As we were finishing the last group of cows, we stopped in the middle of the road doing the work. Suddenly a truck honked real loud. Right behind us was one of the ranchers coming to rescue his cows. There was a mis-understanding about when the cows were to be removed. All of our hard work was in vain. Ray didn't put in the trespass. We were there for dinner time, however. Oops! Where did the calves go?

We had a good time. And the kids wonder what Grandpa does with his time at the BLM.

More Family Reunion

Linda is taking a load off her feet as she maxes and relaxes.

The girls made watch bracelets while the men went golfing. Amy Jo is taking over Misty's baby monitor. I don't know why.

Jennifer was a good sport to attend. Plans were for a baby to come as soon as the reunion ended.

Michael thought this was more fun than tracting in Moscow.

This was home for three nights. KOA campgrounds

Family Reunion

We held our family reunion in Richfield on June 10th -13th. Skip and Amy Jo hosted it for us. Skip held a potato derby. You see the entrees above.

Thomas brought his go cart. Grandpa and Tyler are having a good time in it.

John and Misty's Brinley is having a good time taking it all in.

Here we are as a group. It was a fun time and we enjoyed it immensely. There was a lot of rain and it seemed that we were able to get in the go cart riding, golfing (by the men), the derby races, and family pictures all at just the right time. As we headed back to the center for inside games, it started a down pour.

Remembering

Steven and Maya came with their family. Michael came home and we all went to decorate Clint's grave.

We bought the traditional mums. Dad brought his hanger hooks to keep them from blowing over.

These three were good at giving advice. Everyone thought that Michael brought his girlfriend.

This is Grandpa's better side while at work.

We got it finished. At least we hope that Clint is looking down and seeing that he is still remembered, loved, and missed very much!

Grandkids are Great!

Desiree thought the pool table was fun to play with. I think she is giving it some thought on that shot.

Maya went to Orangeville to visit with Lindsey and Erika for the night.

I'll get this blog business yet.

Busy Saturday

Company came today. Steven and his girls arrived. They were all busy playing with Grandma and Grandpa's toys.

Gracie liked the wii and got pretty good at it. She dressed up using toys from the toy box.
She had them all to herself. I think she must be beating Desiree from the look on her face.

Steven and Avery liked the bowling and could hardly take their eyes off the screen.

Grandpa was real busy cleaning all of the carpets in the house before the company arrived.

This seemed to be the culprit that gave Grandpa all of his aches and pains. Grandma loved it!

This page was actually a trial to see if I could get pictures on my blog. I think (Steven) and I did a pretty good job.

Surprise in the Pantry

I was hunting for a new box of garbage bags this morning when I noticed something long and unusual. When I found the end it was attached to three potatoes in the back corner that had been growing all on their own. Who says you can't grow a garden in Price?

Thomas and Seth were happy to take them off my hands!

Huntington House

We have been working hard to fix up the Huntington house in order to rent it out. The previous renters had animals and they ruined the carpets and floor. We had to remove the floor boards to remove the smell. Ray and Michael also removed about 6 inches of dirt to help get rid of the smell. When we removed the floor boards, we discovered a solid foundation of boulders.

They dug out the dirt and hauled it out into the front to fill in some low spots in the front yard.

Michael kept hauling loads as long as Ray kept filling the wheel barrow.

Skip got Ray some professional grade disinfectant spray that also helped to remove odor. It smelled a little like lemon scent, but it did not last. It is much better than it was. We are hoping to have it finished before the Jenson reunion in Richfield at the start of June; with luck. It most likely will not happen. We are making good progress.

Hopefully this is my final blog

We have had a tough time keeping a working blog. This will be our third try at creating a blog. After a few posts we have trouble logging in and we have not been able to access our account more than a few times. This time I set up a gmail account and hope that this try will be more successful.
Ray received one of his father's day gift a little early by accident. He came home from work one day and there was a package on the front porch. He brought it inside and I tried to keep the contents a secret. I told him that it was a father's day gift and that he would have to wait to open it. He looked at the side of the box and said, "I guess I will have to wait to use my new piano bench." It was written right on the side of the box. He loves it very much.

Thomas, Jennifer and Seth came to visit for the weekend. We had a lot of fun. Seth ran from place to place playing with all the toys and enjoying everyone's' attention. Ray was working all morning on an eagle scout project. When he got home he showered and needs some lotion on his feet. Seth was more than happy to help give him a little massage. All you other grand kids should take notes on how to get on Grandpa's good side.
